Turkana, kenya missions trip

In June 2023, 8 members of the Connections Family traveled to the Turkana Region of Kenya, Africa, to work alongside our Missional Partners, Eric & Cait Pitts. They assisted them and local church leaders in multiple ministries to reach the people of the Turkana Region in northern Kenya. See below for some of the projects our team was involved with.

Trip Details

  • Eric & Cait Pitts & kids

Eric, Cait, and their kids are our missionaries to the Turkana Region of Kenya. They’ve been working, living, and serving in Kenya since 2016. They have three children: Desmond (2015), Melody (2018), and Flora (2020).

Eric’s primary ministry focuses on developing church leaders and pastors. Cait focuses on Community Health Evangelism with women and girls throughout Turkana. The local church (Community Christian Church) grows through a Disciple Making Movement similar to our LifeGroup Ministry.

  • Disciple Making Movement

The Disciple Making Movement spreads the Gospel through local church leaders who hold Discovery Bible Studies (small groups) in local villages. One of our teams’ efforts will be to support this ministry and encourage the local leaders who are expanding the Kingdom.

Pray for the men of our team who will work with Eric and local church leaders to offer support and encouragement and who may assist in local community projects.

  • Encouraging Women in Community & Business

Through the efforts of women in the local churches, women in local villages are educated in feminine hygiene. Hygiene kits are created by local women - which creates income and employment - and distributed to the villages helping women and girls overcome the social stigma of the feminine cycle.

Pray for the women of our team who will work with local business women offering encouragement, support, and business practices to help them reach more women, provide more employment, and create community.
